Does the 7Search Display Platform offer Conversion Tracking

Yes. Four Distinct Types are Offered:

  • Purchase: Conversion occurs after a purchase is made. Code is either located on a post-purchase confirmation/thank you page or fired from a server end.
  • Lead: Can be on the site or generated from an email confirmation directing back to the page with the code.
  • Signup: Placed on confirmation page after sign up form is filled. Sometimes sign up is more than one page. This usually happens within a few pages after the landing.
  • Other: Can be placed anywhere on site.

Tracking Pixel options:

Option 1: (easy) – Our system handles everything. (Javascript|Image)

Option 2: (intermediate) - Advertiser handles parameter passing. (Image)

Option 3: (advanced) - Enhanced pixel code. (Javascript|Image).

Option 4:  Server to server: Called outside of the page. (URL – Can be a call back or post back URL)

Tips for using the ROI Conversion Code:

Option 1 (Our system handles everything):

  1. Make sure that the insert [cluid] is included in the landing (destination) URL.
  2. Generate pixels: Make sure you provide the correct code for each page and clearly point it out to the advertiser.  Note: You can tell the difference by the value parameter. Landing page code will have value= 1.00

  3. Example for Landing Page:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?script=1&amp;type=Other&amp;value=-1&amp;seo=0&amp;adsid=39416&amp;nid=1&amp;para=roi_opt" ></script><noscript><img border="0" width="1" height="1" src="http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?type=Other&amp;value=-1&amp;seo=0&amp;adsid=39416&amp;nid=1&amp;para=roi_opt" /></noscript>
Conversion Page:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?script=1&amp;type=Purchase&amp;value=1.00&amp;seo=0&amp;adsid=39416&amp;nid=1&amp;para=roi_opt" ></script><noscript><img border="0" width="1" height="1" src="http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?type=Purchase&amp;value=1.00&amp;seo=0&amp;adsid=39416&amp;nid=1&amp;para=roi_opt" /></noscript>

  1. Last credit time: Make sure the last credit time is up to date through the admin campaign info page.
  2. It is possible to generate a test link for the advertiser to test a conversion. Make sure you have the right parameter before generating or else the [cluid] will not replace.

Option 2 (Advertiser handles parameter passing):

  • Landing URL: Make sure the [cluid] is placed in the landing URL
  • Generate pixel: Make sure you provide the full pixel code to the advertiser.
    Example:
    Conversion page:
    <img border="0" width="1" height="1" src=" http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?type=Purchase&value=1.00&adsid=39416&nid=1&cluid=[Cluid value goes here]" />
Replacement is required here. Make sure the advertiser understands this.
  • Last credit time: Make sure the last credit time is up to date through the admin campaign info page.
  • Test link: Generate a test link for the advertiser to test a conversion. Make sure you have the right parameter before generating or else the [cluid] will not replace.
  • Turn on: Make sure you turn the feature on for the campaign(s) that will be using the code.
  • Generate pixel: Make sure you provide the correct pixel to the advertiser.
    Example:
    Conversion page:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?script=1&amp;type=Purchase&amp;value=1.00&amp;seo=0&amp;adsid=39416&amp;nid=1&amp;para=roi_opt" ></script><noscript><img border="0" width="1" height="1" src="http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?type=Purchase&amp;value=1.00&amp;seo=0&amp;adsid=39416&amp;nid=1&amp;para=roi_opt" /></noscript>
  • Last credit time: Make sure the last credit time is up to date through the admin campaign info page.
  • Test link: Generate a test link for the advertiser to test a conversion. This will only work for CPC, CPV and some CPM (only ones that include click URLs). For CPM banners that have HTML/Javascript code for banners, you can find out their landing URL and place it in the url parameter of the test link.
    Example:
    Landing URL for CPM: http://www.roi.com
    http://ads.roi.com/newServing/roiTestRedir.php?nid=1&adsid=39416&cid=74244&url=http://www.roi.com
  • Landing URL: Make sure the [cluid] is placed in the landing URL
  • Generate pixel: Make sure you provide the full pixel code to the advertiser.
    Example:
    Server side:
    http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/rois2strack.php?nid=1&adsid=39416&type=Purchase&value=1.00&cluid=[Cluid value goes here]
Replacement is required here. Make sure the advertiser understands this.
  • Last credit time: Make sure the last credit time is up to date through the admin campaign info page.
  • Test link: Generate a test link for the advertiser to test a conversion. Make sure you have the right parameter before generating or else the [cluid] will not replace.

Option 3 (Enhanced):

Option 4 Server to server:

Image|Javascript Pixels

For option 1 and option 3, the provided pixels are a combination of image and Javascript pixels. They can be separated based on advertiser requirements.

Example:

Image (highlighted in blue)
Javascript (highlighted in green)

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?script=1&amp;type=Purchase&amp;value=1.00&amp;seo=0&amp;adsid=39416&amp;nid=1&amp;para=roi_opt" ></script><noscript><img border="0" width="1" height="1" src="http://www.myroitracking.com/newServing/roitrack.php?type=Purchase&amp;value=1.00&amp;seo=0&amp;adsid=39416&amp;nid=1&amp;para=roi_opt" /></noscript>

Test Conversion Tips

This system does allow for advertisers to verify their conversion tracking pixel via a test link.  Have the advertiser perform a test conversion by following the test link available in the advertiser account under ROI Tracking.

If you can see the test conversion on the Conversion Data page available in the campaign admin area: The test should be successfully received and validated the pixel.

Additional Tips/Troubleshooting:

  • Last credit time should be within last 10 days.
  • Issues with Conversion Code:
    - Make sure they tested it with the test link and not just directly on the site.
    - If option 1, make sure landing page code is there and the [cluid] is in the landing URL. Also carefully check the URL in the listing on this page. If value=-1, then it is a landing page code and that will always count as invalid because it is not supposed to log.
    - If it is server to server or option 2, make sure the cluid is added correctly. It will show on the page.
    - If option 3, make sure enhanced ROI is turned on.
