What are the three different keyword matching options?
NOTE: This feature is currently in beta test mode and may not always work as anticipated. If you notice any unexpected issues, please let us know by contacting http://7search.com/support/
7Search allows advertisers to bid on 3 different matching options for each keyword:
1. Broad Match : This is the broadest matching option. Broad Match keywords are displayed when a surfer searches for a term that contains your keywords, in any order.
Example: The Broad Match keyword "football arizona" would be displayed for searched terms such as "football players from arizona", "arizona cardinals football team", and "arizona football jersey".
2. Phrase Match: This matching option will display your listing when a searched term includes your keywords in the exact order given, in combination with other words.
Example: The Phrase Match keyword "bahamas vacation" would be displayed for the searched terms "spring bahamas vacation" and "cheap bahamas vacation rate", but NOT for the searched terms "bahamas cruise vacation" or "vacation in the bahamas".
3. Exact Match: This is the most narrow matching option. An Exact Match Keyword will only be displayed when the searched term matches the keyword exactly, with no additional keywords. Because most search terms are longer terms, this matching option will severely limit the exposure that your listing will receive.
You can also use negative keywords to ensure that your ads are not displayed when a user searches for untargeted or unwanted keywords. To help you identify which negative keywords to add to your account, the Detailed Keyword Report now contains the original searched keyword that resulted in the click.
You can modify your bids for each keyword matching option by clicking on the "TDU" Custom Title link on the Manage Keywords Page.
Recommendation: 7Search strongly recommends that you use a "Broad Match first" bidding process to ensure that you do not unnecessarily limit the number of clicks your account receives. Because most surfers search for more descriptive, long-tail keywords, it is best to bid using a Broad Match whenever possible, to ensure that your listing receives maximum exposure. In most cases, reviewing the original search terms and adding negative keywords whenever unwanted variations are found will allow advertisers to eliminate any unwanted search terms while maximizing their exposure across our affiliate network.
